Google Rolls Out Weddings Website

by Erslan on February 15, 2011

According to a recent post on Google’s Official Blog, the Internet giant has rolled out a new website dedicated for consumers who have interests in developing websites for weddings, editing photos and planning weddings through theme-specific templates in Google Docs, Google Sites and Picnik.

Michelle Rago, the wedding planner for the templates, teamed up with Google to offer advices and tips to the future husbands and wives.

For disseminating information and luring partners, Google is hosting a $25,000 wedding sweepstakes and an opportunity to have Rago plan the winner’s wedding.

The move is Google’s most recent attempt to introduce its services into a consumer’s lifestyle.

In 2008, Google introduced Google Health, allowing users to organize, monitor, track and use health information on the site, however, there is a thin line between offering helpful information and encroaching upon privacy.

In 2009, Google Health collaborated with CVS to offer patients online access for their prescription drug history through Google Health accounts, which created issues on Google’s alleged snooping of sensitive personal information.
