Is there an app for Android that you would love everyone else to know about? Are you looking for the very best Android apps but aren’t really sure where to start? With so many apps available – and an increasing array entering the market every single day – it can certainly be hard to know where to look sometimes. After all, when there are so many apps available, how can you tell which is the best? And what about all those amazing, little-known apps that get lost in the crowd but really deserve to be shouted about from the
rooftops?
Now everyone can have their say on their favourite apps as the Sunday Times launches the first ever Sunday Times App Awards. Nominations are currently underway for the awards and the newspaper is inviting everyone to submit their favourite app. This includes the top Android apps as well as apps for devices such as the iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Kindle and more.
The App Awards follow hot on the heels of the Sunday Times App List, which is a definitive guide to the top apps around. The list was released last year and it is regularly updated; currently it includes expert reviews and descriptions of more than 600 top apps for a whole range of devices. The App List makes a great place to start if you are looking for inspiration when deciding which app you want to nominate for the new App Awards. There are many categories detailed in the App List so you’ll have plenty of choice and will easily be able to see what’s available for each device in each category.
Examples of categories on the App List include books, films, DIY, science, the weather, news, sport, shopping, food, business, money and more. Plus with so many apps detailed on the list, the chances are that your favourites will already be on there. If, however, you can’t find your favourite Android or other app on the App List, that doesn’t mean you can’t nominate it in the awards. The App Awards are all about finding the very best apps, from the well-known to the hidden gems that hardly anyone knows about: if you feel you know of an app that’s worth sharing, now’s your chance to do so.
Once you’ve decided which app you want to nominate for the Sunday Times App Awards, all you have to do is pay a visit to the website and name your choice. All of the entries will then be judged in the relevant categories by a judging panel, and there is also a readers’ choice award for the very best apps nominated.
It is hoped that the App Awards will provide a definitive guide to the best apps around, including the top Android apps as well as apps for many other devices. So, once the awards are announced in the autumn it will be much easier to tell the good from the bad and to build up a collection of the best Android apps that will help to improve your phone experience.
